7 Tips for Top Blog Traffic

Every blog needs traffic, as traffic is the lifeblood of a blog, without it your blog is as good as a dead blog. We have all heard sayings like ‘laser targeted traffic’ and ‘conversions’ all over the place and quite simply I am getting fed up with these sayings bloggers use every 2 seconds.

In this first post for We Are Social People I want to discuss my ways of getting good quality traffic to your blog over the next 7 steps….Enjoy…..

1. Become Helpful.

   Offer to help people on sites like twitter, Facebook and linked-in as well as forums, somebody may have a problem with html code or a wordpress plugin. You will soon get a good reputation and people will start visiting your blog them maybe even sign up as a subscriber! The more you help the more traffic you get which eventually turns into more cash.

2. Favourite Blog’s.

   Every so often write out a blog post of your ten most favourite blogs that you visit and why others should visit them, but be honest when you write reviews of them, not only are you providing link juice for those respective blogs but the authors may in turn reciprocate and do the same for your blog hence getting more traffic.

3. Business Cards

   People always assume that the only way to get traffic is online, this however is not the case, I always carry around business cards with me so when people ask what I do for a living I tell them that I am a blogger, which nine times out of 10 intrigue them and this is the perfect opportunity to hand over one of those cards!

4. Submit to Blog Submission Sites

   another great traffic source these are places like Technorati and digg are huge now so to get on the front page of those can be especially difficult. However one of my friends has just built Blog Interact which is still small enough to be personal but is a great traffic source with a great social community so to connect with other bloggers as well as find more inspiration.

5. Organize your Blogging Day

   Writing good quality content alone just won’t cut it anymore, you need to organise your Facebook accounts, pages, groups, apps as well as various twitter accounts which can be very time consuming let alone reading and commenting on other blogs and submitting your content to places I mention in point 4. Which is why I love Market Me Suite to organise everything in 1 helpful place, it also saves me hours to get on with other things that need my attention.

6. Stop Pitching

   Facebook, Twitter, Blog’s and Email inboxes are NOT places to pitch some money making system, product or book. Every single day I receive emails of people saying things like ‘Hey Phillip you need this I made $4000 overnight with this system and it works get it now’ and I get the same off people on Facebook and twitter. Guys the idea is social, develop friendships, help others, educate and become an authority in your field then every so often write an honest product review on your blog, that way you will be able to generate sales and earn those gorgeous commissions.

7. Guest Post

   stop writing content for your own blog. I love guest posting, places like here as well as Famous bloggers are great places to guest post as guest posting opens up your blog to totally new people to visit your blog but it also helps build backlinks which is good for seo.
