Facebook: The Best Place To Find A Rescue Pet!

Facebook is a great way of tracking down old friends, old lovers, family members, making new friends, getting involved with online activity or even finding local places that share your hobbies and interests. But have you ever thought of using Facebook to find your new rescue pet? Facebook is also a great place for animal safety and re-homing.

F.A.I.T.H: Animal Re-Homing Techniques

UK based animal rescue centre F.A.I.T.H is one animal charity that gets social media and Facebook use right and a great example of how to use Facebook to your re-homing and help needs. F.A.I.T.H updates it’s profile every time they have new animals on the adoption register. Everyone likes photos of cute animals! Imagine how much interest just one photo can get and divert traffic to their page. This means people who “Like” their page will see photos of the animals spring up in their news feed, gets their attention and and they click through to look. This is much easier and effective than standing in the streets handling out leaflets and not all small charities can afford big business marketing campaigns so Facebook really does help. With millions of people on Facebook,  imagine  how many more people will see the animals who needs home and how much more likely they are to find a suitable place to live!

Facebook: Keeping Animals Safe

Not only doe F.A.I.T.H have a great way of re-homing animals in need, they also save animals from a life of cruelty, and warn you of how you can help. For example, this week, they were asked by man about re-homing one of their Whippets. They looked in to the man’s social media accounts and found something interesting on his Facebook. He was part of an illegal dog fighting club and was using Whippets as bait to fight.

Thanks to Facebook and social media, F.A.I.T.H managed to save that dog from cruelty and warn others about this man’s intentions. Not only that, but an ex-police officer from that area reported the man and official investigations have now began. All thanks to Facebook!

Why Your Animal Organisation Needs To Be Online

Many animal charities or organisations know that social media is a great place to spread the word and get people interested and involved in their cause. Social media is easy, effective, something people can use from the comfort of their own home but still feel involved. It’s also a way of getting people to “Share”, “Like” and comment on and talk about your information and content. It really is something that every charity should get on board with. It’s free, it’s easy and it really works!
